Luci's Back-Packing Trip - First day at the Elephant and Dog Sanctuary, Thailand, just three weeks to go

Luci is working here at this Elephant and Dog Sanctuary. She says it is hard work as they have 400 dogs. She is in a bungalow with four other volunteers, three are English girls and the other girl is an American girl. She has her own bedroom and It is a vegetarian diet. Luci is pleased about that because she has put on a few pounds with sampling all the Asian, Australian and New Zealand food. Who can blame her for that? As you can see, with these first photographs she will enjoy the job, I'm certain of that, bless her
heart.

Hi-ya Country's Mama. Good to see you. Luci is here until she flies home on the 27th of March. She started here on Sunday.I have enclosed an email we got today from Luci:

"Hi mum and dad!!
So onto my third day now, it's so so tiring. There are only 6 volunteers for the 400+ dogs. So we can't take them all for a walk! We prioritise the dogs that have been in the cages most of the day and then work along to the dogs in the larger cages.
Love to you all xxxxxxxxx
Luci"

PS. The little dog below is blind and Luci has taken to it, it is just like her little dog Brynnie. She says it is very playful. We shall have to look into the quarantine situation as I'm sure Luci would love to adopt him, we shall see.

Luci says this little fellow is blind but very playful. If it was in England I would tell her to bring it home. Poor little bugger.

I would say get ready for a new member to the family Graham.:) They will make a good set. When I was young and like to hunt Rabbits I had 2 Beagles. When I went to look at them to get one there was a blind one and the one I liked. I took them both home.:) Mom and Dad were not to pleased with me.:) But they both made for good hunters. One was a female and the good hunter. I made a short lead to keep them together. Betty always looked out for her brother Bennie. And they both lived to a very old age.:):) I still miss them.

That indeed Erv, is lovely heart warming story, although it doesn't surprise me in the least. I have only known you a short while, but I know you are grand chap, kind, thoughtful and considerate and I'm happy and privileged to be a friend of yours.

They could be twins if the little blind one was groomed the way Brynnie is. I am sure there is a way to get this little guy home to your house.

It's not a done deal yet. We have to look at the small print before we make a decision. If the pooches were here in the UK there wouldn't be a problem. Quarantine and kennelling for two dogs would be quite an expesive affair. We we will see what Luci finds out before we make any decision.
