Was just trolling the Nikonites forum and found this software suggested for Camera Control (instead of using the Nikon Software) - digiCamControl http://digicamcontrol.com/
Downloaded it and first impressions are that it is pretty neat software!

Thanks, had a little trouble with the MS Camera Control. I clicked the link for 'did not work' and then it let me choose the download spot and did download.

What is nce is that Microsoft patch that is listed as a requirement. Once installed, RAW pictures come up in the thumbnails in Windows Explorer.
One other item. I have Wondershare PDF converter. I use it all the time. After installing that software yesterday it stopped working. Had to reinstall. Have not had time to go and see if the Camera Control software works. Stay tuned. I did not need to instal the .net framework as I had a better copy installed.
