Special relationship

Great Britain and The United States of America have for years had what the politicians and media called a 'Special Relationship' whereby in the event of any world shattering incident our Prime Minister and the U.S. President would confer immediately. However since our Parliament, for once listening to the voters, decided not to slavishly back Obama's 'line in the sand' over Syria, it would appear that the Special Relationship is no more and that France is now the USA's best friend (Well good luck with that then). I will be interested to see how the unrest in the Ukraine pans out now that America is once more 'speaking for the rest of the world' and to see if we are now totally divorced. If we are we will not be contesting custody of Piers Morgan.

No, not divorced, we just had a spat, however the British system is set up better than the American system, at least you get a say we don't. It takes us 4 years to oust the bum you have a vote of no confidence wish we had that. Our beloved Obumer has really messed up this countries reputation, I only hope it will be restored in the eyes of the world. As for the current situation with Russia and the Crimea (hope my spelling is correct) it reminds me of what Hitler did just before WWII grabbing the Sudeten land for the iron to make his tanks. I don't think we will do anything about it, but what is next Poland? I for one American have strong positive feelings for our English cousins.

Bullets, blood, and greenbacks seem to be the language the world understands the most.

I find your comments extremely ironic. I really don't care the reason or reasons why but I beg to differ with you on the good luck with France remark. I am certain that we will continue our "Great relationship" and not "Special relationship" as you say with your country in spite of people like you with poignant remarks. Unfortunately, we are under a present administration with extremely liberal ideas. However, we are very much aware that communists and radical Muslims only understand the world of bullets and smart bombs to make them buckle. Sit tight in your world of irony and hate because our relationship with England is stronger than ever regardless of our present administration that will not last forever. Only two more years to go.

How anyone could have a Special Relationship of the kind implied, with France, is unthinkable. A nation that willfully gave up before the fight with Nazi Germany, and tells Quebec (to Separeate) from Canada, a Nation that helped free it. Well..... God Bless and Good Luck, y'all gonna' need it !

How interesting that you place so much blame for relationships on the current administration. Forgot about the last one, huh? "Sit tight in your world..."

Speak for yourself. America isn't speaking for anybody, our politicians are the ones doing the speaking but it's sure as hell isn't the people of the country doing the talking.
I know plenty of individuals that have been out of the country on behalf of the jackasses in political positions of leadership and we are sick and tired of it!
They don't take into account what's best for the country or our people they want to play the "if we don't get our way we are going to throw sand on everybody and go home" attitude.
Personally I hope we keep our nose out of the Ukraine, I'm sorry but it's not a direct threat to the United States, it's an internal matter between Russia and the Ukraine, and it's something for them to work out.
Oh and if you send Morgan back here not only will there be a divorce but there will be a change of addresses, body guards, and witness protection to hide us from him!

"In hiding" must be preventing you from understanding the past, present and the future. Just my opinion.

We, the USA as a nation, have only been around been around for a couple of hundred years; where as several other nations have been around for many more years and some others are just starting.

It also seems that the various paths, meandering, and pathologies that humans experience during their lives; nations seem to, in some part, experience.

Applying an analogy of national maturity to human maturity lead me to the following:

IF you equate the national timelines to the timelines of a human life, THEN it seems the USA is still in the adolescent stage of life where some nations have made it to a more mature stage and other nations are in their infancy.

Just a thought and this idea is not totally flushed out, but maybe it will provide some food for thought and dialog.
