I'm considering upgrading to the 70d from the T1i. One of the features of the 70d is it can take 9 bracketed photos for HDR vs the T1i only doing 3. Am I going to notice the difference in post processing and better quality with this?

That's somewhat like comparing a Ford Ranger with a Ford F150. The 70D is several generations advanced from the T1i, in every aspect.

You might consider the T5i, my son loves his, we both decided the 70D didn't offer enough extra for us over the T4i and T5i, I got the 4 he got the 5, Bob.

I have the 70D and i upgraded from the T2i & 60D. Mainly for the video, but the camera does so much more. Live View is very quick and video is excellent.

20.2 mgp over whatever the T1i offers will show better quality and also better ISO usage

I have a T1i, and am subject to "better camera envy". I don't know if I can justify another body now though. The T1i does great. (I also have a 1995 F-150.)

If you get the magic lantern runtime for your T1i it supports more than 3 brackets for HDR etc.

It won't turn your T1i into a 70D, but will address some issues.
