I am so ready for spring to arrive so I can go in search of all things green to photograph. :D
These wildflowers were found in the mountains of Western North Carolina--and more specifically, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, on a hike to Crabtree Falls.

Thank you, Linda. I can hardly wait to see the undulating greens and yellows in the Palouse in just a few more months. Plan to stretch my legs after the flight out by going to a Japanese garden near the Seattle airport for a few hours, as well. That aught to satisfy my cravings until I go out to Colorado in October to satisfy my main addiction--fall colors!

Well, Photobud, we could find ourselves photographing the same WNC scenery side by side and never know we'd already gotten acquainted on UHH! :-)

Beautiful, just beautiful. I wish I could get away long enough to get up there. I'm located close to the foothills. Where is Nebo?

Send me a PM when you come in May. It's always nice to make new acquaintances--especially with fellow photographers! I go all over the western part of the state in search of waterfalls and mountain scenery. Although we live at the lake now, I grew up in the Asheville area.

Hi Cameranut! Nebo is at Lake James, between Asheville and Hickory. Are you in the foothills of WNC or South Carolina?
A friend and I are planning to search out some waterfalls in upper South Carolina and North Georgia in April and return on the BR parkway out near Brevard. Crabtree Falls is in the section of the parkway east of Mt. Mitchell and west of Spruce Pine and some of these trilliums are unique to that area. If you ever want company for a photo trek just send a PM. :-)

I'm about 25-30 miles east of Hickory & about 3 miles from Alexander County. It's about a 30 minute drive from the local Brushy mountains & apple orchards. I've been to Asheville 3 times to take someone to the VA hospital. Love the quaint town of Old Fort but hate going up & down the 5 mile hill if you know what I mean. :D Wish I could travel but my home situation won't allow for that. Too many responsibilities. :-(

Yep, the stretch of I-40 on the Old Fort mountain has been in the news too many times--for the wrong reasons!
Sorry you can't get out for photo treks, but sounds like you're greatest contribution is right where you are.
