I boxed my D600 up this morning and dropped it off at the UPS store. Headed for the Nikon repair center and hopefully a permanent fix to the sensor dust problem. Mine never was real bad, but I did have to keep on top of it, blowing chunks out every month or so.

I read where they are installing the shutter mechanism from the 610's.
Good luck, I hope that takes care of the dust problem.

Thanks. I am hopeful as well. I hope they are speedy, I only have 4 other DSLR's for backup.

And if three of them break, you're getting close to the edge.

Well Jerry, those were just the DSLR's. I do have a MFT, 5 P&S, and 2 bridge cameras. Add in a GoPro, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, and an iPod, I should be ok. I'm no doubt forgetting something.

That's a relief! I was about to send you several cameras, just in case. :D

Which model GoPro do you have? I have the original. Having to set everything with just those two buttons and that tiny LCD an be annoying. I'd be lost without the directions. It is very versatile, though.

I have the black model. Comes with remote control. I also got the add on touch screen for it. That helps a little with the settings.

I bought a DJI Phantom 2 Vision just before Christmas. Then, all the snow and cold weather hit and I haven't been able to try it out.

You don't want to try it in the snow?

Well, I did have one brief test flight. Enough snow melted from the driveway for a landing pad. I got a little to close to a mountain ash tree. Cold plastic blades and solid objects don't play well together. 2 shattered blades convinced me to wait for warmer weather and/or a larger spot with no trees!

Right. I forgot about a nice landing area. I see that they sell spare blades. When a blade breaks in flight, what happens to control of the craft?

It was only waist high and fell in the snow. Bummer getting snow out of the motors before it melts. Any higher onto a hard surface and I don't think it would be a pretty sight.

The blades are proprietary and I have not found a hobby store yet that carries them. I can get original blades from B&H but quite costly. I have gotten several sets of carbon fiber blades from Amazon.

You know two things: you will need replacement blades; they will probably not be getting cheaper.

Make that 3 things. Sometimes, gravity is a bummer.

Or, as scientists say, "Gravity sucks."
