Here we go again. My D600 is on its way back to Nikon for "spot" service. Let's see what happens this time.
I'm growing weary of the B.S.
It's funny that they (Nikon) said to me that "the spots are common on DSLR's because if the interchangeable lenses."
What a shock when I told them, "I haven't had my 24-85mm off of it in 6 months." Still I have spots. Hmmmmmmm! They got very quiet then.
They did spring for free shipping though. They should spring for a new D610.

They should give you a new D610 camera if they can't fix it this time.
Nikon Don, ask for a new D4 and lets be done with all the bs......

The will likely replace the shutter.
at what I paid for the D4, new, would pay for a lot more than a shutter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Should have named the model the Leopard, instead of giving it a numerical designation

Now "THAT" is funny......unless of course you own a Leopard(D600)
I thought that Nikon repair facility was replacing the shutter mechanism for free on service returned D600 with the same shutter that is in the D610.

Then it must be true
Don't feel bad my D600 has been retuned 3 times to Nikon for the oil spots, I told them in so many words replace the F.. camera or fix it right. they said that the shutter was replaced, and adj. ????today I was told what they are going to do with my camera. Lets see what happens. Find out more when you send your camera in and who is the tech that is working on it, and the supervisor on duty. that may give you a more direct info. Good Luck
I just received the following in an email from my CNPA chapter. May be exactly what you were looking for!
"Who said class action lawsuits do not work? Just few hours after I reported that the first D600 class action lawsuit was filed in California federal court, Nikon USA published a new technical service advisory where they announced a free cleaning and free shutter replacement for all D600 owners, even those with expired warranty. You can send your camera even if you do not have a problem. To schedule your service, go to this website. My only concern is that this advisory is valid only for the US, hopefully other Nikon subsidiaries will follow. Update: Nikon Japan, Nikon China, Nikon Canada and other subsidiaries have also issued similar service advisories - this is global fix."
Sorry the link did not come thru...I could not copy and paste...mea culpa. It is on the Nikon site and is Service Advisory D600. It requires serial number and other info. Hope this helps. Sorry for the incomplete message first go round.
At what shutter count are you having the spot problem at? I am at 9000 and don't have problems yet (knocking on wood).
