I went back to the lake to see how the nest of humming birds were doing. I can't believe how big they have gotten. There are two of them. One is larger then the other. They look like they are ready to fly. I'm surprised they haven't fallen out of their nest. I feel very lucky that I been able to take pictures of them. I hope you enjoy seeing them.

WOW, that is so cool that you were able to capture these. How did you even find the nest? It must be very tiny!

Great shots!

Amazing series, Terri. You've given us an up close and personal look at something we might never otherwise see. Thanks so much for sharing it.

You're absolutely right Tracey! On all counts...I'll bet that branch the nest is on is no more than an inch in diameter, maybe an inch-and-a-half max...amazing.

And what to adult hummingbirds feed their young? I thought they were mostly a nectar collector but they must eat some bugs too.

Excellent work here...stunning clarity on these. It is interesting to note, that even the smallest creatures take good care of their young!

SO interesting and I'm thrilled to see your series. Knowing how tiny the mom is, I'm amazed you saw the nest and babies, SO tiny! thank you for sharing.
