Has anyone heard anything about when the new Nikon D7100 will be released?
I'm sure it would be about a week after I get a D7000!

That's murphy's law (and would be my luck as well)
Interesting thread here with some possible new features:
http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=3790As I understand it, the D7000 is a great camera.
I've read someone said: What pictures would you miss while waiting for the new model?
I shoot with the D7000. Music videos at 23.976 fps and stills in the studio, sports on location, and lots of daylight amazement on my Daylight Stage.
With over 30 years as a pro, I would say the D7000 is the first new inspiration in my photography since the Nikon F2. All else has been waiting.

nikonians.com is the largestunofficial nikon user website on the net. check with them. rember the tsuami and nuclear reactor problem has had a huge negative impact on all japanese industries including cameras. then add on either a fire or flood I can't rember which at Nikon's chief factory in thailand, so figure everything is delayed.
The only rumors that seem to be circulating are for the release of a new D4 and D400
I have the D7000 and cannot think of anything more that I need. I am waiting for the D800 to consider Full frame but that is really just NAS.

Well, were I to nit-pick, the D7000, while being extraordinary in a post film world, has a tiny bit of a lag problem. Once in a while, I find myself waiting for the D7000 in a way never experienced with a motor driven Nikon F2 of 30+ years ago. While the F2 runs out of film every 38 frames (didn't we all load our own film?) it NEVER lagged at critical moments.
As to what IS a critical moment, you only know it when you missed the shot. In most scenarios, it is never an issue. But once in a while, I have cursed missing the shot with the D7000. Maybe once a month. It certainly is not a big deal.
Of course, thinking back, with a 40 pound camera bag delivering future arthritic pain and two F2/MD2/MB1 motor driven film cameras hanging off of me, there were times when cursing two camera film runouts occurred, almost always shooting sports. I never got into the 250 exposure back thing, due to the hassle in processing. Even WHEN I used that back and sent it to the lab with a nubby roller machine, the film would almost invariably spend time on the floor amidst shuffling lab tech feet.
Digital solved all of these issues, and the D7000 is a prime contender in the brave new world. Sad its shutter is not designed to last.
Still Dependable! The lens, mainly, on the D7000.

So hurry up and buy the D7000 so they can release the D7100 already!!!
Just for using Nikons most of my life I would go out and buy either the D7000 or D7100 now versus waiting until the new "Revised" edition comes out. I say this because Nikon has a reputation of having bugs in their new releases which need to be sent back to the factory to be fixed. For instance when you bought the orginal D3000 it had problems---you had a choice #1, you could send the camera back and have the bugs fixed or wait 2 months and purchase the D3100 which had the bugs worked out. Same goes for the D5000/D5100 and the D7000/D7100. Go ahead and buy your camera---what more do you think you're going to get that will be any more than a few bells and whisles that you proably don't need. AND as someone mentioned with all the disasters in the far east you don't want to wait for parts that have to come overseas........
