I just got this in an email. Ordered one just for kicks. Figured I could just throw it in the work truck and not worry about it. They don't say what it will hold, but I figured I could always use it with my P500 and the P7100 which are always with me in the truck.

That should be OK with a P&S or a smaller bridge camera. If it breaks and the camera survives, you're only out the price of a few of gallons of gas!
K-Mart used to sell them for $4 And I bought a couple just for my slave flashes.
That is my hiking tripod, I have P&S cameras. I got mine for 10 bucks a t big lots and again for 10 bucks on sale at RadioShack. Perfect for P&S cams but watch the adjustment thumbscrews, mine keep falling out. I'm on my third one in 10 years...
I have a real tripod that I use for serious photography, but when I'm hiking I'm willing to sacrifice quality (and durability) for weight. These things are featherweight!

Wonder how much weight it can hold. My camera body itself weighs about 15lb. Add a VR lens and a hand held strobe and the weight can be 25lb or more. I get a workout each time I go out for a shoot.

It's not a bad little tripod. I have had my D300s and the 28-300 on it. Held it pretty good. I wouldn't walk away from it to far, ha! But with my P7100 and the P500 it works great.
