Thought to be abandoned when photographed. Later found that Mass is served each Sunday by a Priest from the town of Buffalo, about 20 miles away. This is the North-westernmost church in the state.

An alternate title (heading North): "No services for 70 miles!"

Very fine photo. Father must have one interesting trips to celebrate Mass in the winter. I can almost hear the click as the lock is open in the early morning.

i"ve often thouht that the time between opening the door and the arrival of the firsr congregants when the only sounds would be the dedicated Father's footfalls...and their echos...must be a time of a great variety of thoughts.
And the travel includes, I'm tninking..at least ten miles off plowed hard-top.
