Looks a bit overexposed to me. Maybe one step down?

>>>CTP: Thanks, Mr. Kodak. The color and light register exactly what the camera saw at that time. Leaf compared to picture, no difference.

Sorry it displeased you.

For what it's worth, I like the shot. Proves even gray can be an interesting color. (smile)

I like the grey one slightly better, but the colors in #1, wow. (Hope I don't get some flak from this)

Sorry, I'm missing something here. I don't see a posting from CTP. If your remark was addressed to me, I didn't say I was displeased, and I'm not questioning what your camera saw. This is what has been covered elsewhere, the camera doesn't always see things the way the eye does. It has a range it can record, and outside that range, you can end up with over- or underexposure. My opinion, and it is only an opinion, is that a little less light might have benefited the highlights without sacrificing the midtones.

Again, if your remark was addressed to me, you're being overly sensitive.

Overly sensitive? Look, I published this cuz I was impressed by His ability to knock our sox off. I shot this thing in respect for what God has given the garden. That's my reason for looking asscance at those who seem to feel that P/P is so nesessary! What I saw, the camera saw, and it gave me exactly what I wanted. I didn't know we were in a grey vs color contest. Overly sensitive? Who died and made you a critic?

Did I mention post-processing? I suggested a slightly different exposure. If you're happy, then I'm happy. As for the second image posted, I didn't post it, nor did I comment about it. Everybody's a critic, you certainly are, so, at least in my case, nobody had to die.

Stop picking fights where no cause exists.

well I'm sorry Pixchuck but I agree with RMM. I too would have tried and I emphasise 'tried' reducing the exposure a little - just to see the effect. Frankly why post a photo on a forum and then get upset at someone trying to help?

Here is the coleus plant in my front yard. Taken with my new Nikon D5100. Love the uniqueness and difference from one coleas plant to the next. Both beautiful!

It's like the little old lady whipping up on the boy scout attempting to help her cross a street that she damn well didn't want to cross. Seems evident that those who require help and ask for it are pretty well vocal with their request---What's wrong with just publishing a picture? I get the feeling that there is a group, of y'all in this forum, who like the vulture runnig out of patience was heard to utter, "Wait Hell, I'm gonna kill sumthin". Since I did not ask, what gave you the idea that I was looking for criticism. The title of my subject was "Color, As Only Nature Produces" What about my title did y'all not understand?..........CTP

Simply put: No. If you're just posting to display, then you'd be well advised to say right up front that neither comments nor criticisms are invited. As it is, you ended up with two images posted by others, and I'm sure that wasn't your intention, either. Plus, you have new people coming and going who aren't familiar with whatever protocols exist. Perhaps you should suggest to the Admin, who is considering breaking this into two sections, that a section exist for display only.
