I shot this with a Nikon D 3200 and a 55 - 200 mm lens. I was rather surprised to see craters after the crop.

Best way to see the craters is via a crop...perhaps you meant the resolution of the image after the crop?

The image was small so I made it larger. I was surprised the craters were noteworthy with the lower resolution.

I don't have a computer, so I WIFI the pictures to my Android phone. I then zoom in and do a screen shot. I guess zooming in is about the same as cropping.

For the sake of clarity, I can post an out of camera shot of the moon and then a crop of the same image; if you wish....
