Cool trees and a bridge...
Love willows, my favorite trees. We make cricket bats with them in England. The monochrome of the willow is a real winner.
Ian
I know exactly what you mean.

You spared me the humiliation of havin' to use it!? LOL
You, sir... are definitely a gentleman. :)
And yup... gonna use it to pine away for winter for sure!
(It's my second fave season to take photos in, too!)
Thank you so much!
(may I share these with you? As a thank you in advance, maybe?)
Why, thank you. At first I thought you had caught that icicle in flight but then I read the caption. Sure looks kinda cold. I'm kinda a warm weather guy. Got any beach shots? I see what you mean about your snow shot being a little blue. Poor ol' bike. Thanks.
Looks like your holding something lethal in that fist. A roll of lead maybe.
The first one gives me an eerie kinda feeling, the 2nd one, I like, but I agree, I think it would make very cool paper!
The willow....I think it's gallery worthy. WOW
Smiling reading your back and forth....this is how folks are supposed to banter over creativity and preferences and aesthetics and just being different humans.
Pablo Picasso said,
"In art, as in love, we are continually surprised at the choices of others."
Perfect.
Rocco.
And his wife Paloma said,
"If my husband ever ran into a woman who looked like he paints them, he'd pass out." true quote....LOL

Thank you sir. Willows are one of my favorite trees too. Used to lie under them in the shade and nap in the summer when I was a kid before air conditioning. I wasn't aware that cricket bats were made out of Willow. We generally use hickory, I think, for our baseball bats. I've played a little cricket a time or two. Also played a bit of soccer and rugby. I spent 3 years in Leicestershire courtesy of the USAF. Loved every minute of it.

Thank you Tracey. It's just a little park close to my house that has a walking trail around it. Don't let it spook you. Even in the midst of the thick fog that day, you would have been perfectly safe on the bridge. The temp was about 30 below zero, very uncharacteristic for here and all the time I was taking pictures I didn't see one single perv lurking about. Later.

Me?
Lead?
*grins wickedly*
No way! lol
(But,the stun-gun I carry with me doesn't FIT in my fist!)

Tell me what you'd do with these, please... Any reason for them to exist? This blizzard and then fog occurred on the 7th of February, 2009 and was the 2nd coldest day in Denver's weather recording history. Some of us won't enjoy seeing this with winter coming on but what I'm looking for is the concensus of opinion as to whether they have any decorating merit, like perhaps in a home where there is an "all-white" freak. What do you think - honestly. Let me have it. These are not black and white. All were shot with a Canon EOS 5D MkII and an EOS 70-200, f2.8. All 3 were shot at f5.6 @ 1/80th and 100iso, handheld

One of my favorite photos is by a photographer named Thomas Mangelsen. It features a tree in the snow and is an awesome photo. Your willow tree reminds me of that photo.

Maybe you could combine one, two an maybe even three. Those are the ones that appeal the most to me.

Why don't you have a go at it Strubbles. Let me see what you have pictured in your mind. I've not made it to the point yet of combining elements of different shots except in the case of inserting someone into a family portrait who wasn't around at the time of the portrait sitting. I've mostly done that with old photos involved with some genealogy stuff I've done on my family. I'll be anxious to see what you have in mind. Thanks.

Well, I will give it a try... might not be right away, but I will get to it. If I don't, please remind me. I can be forgetful...
