My son was staying back home for a while and Sanchez, his cat, came along. It wasn't too long before he learned how to use the dog door and I went outside but couldn't find him. All the time I was searching all over and he was watching me from the shed!
The second picture is the pencil drawing I did of the first.

Awesome drawing!! I did a quick glance at the second photo and had to take a second look to see which was the drawing.
I just hate when I think one of my cats has gotten out and I search and call and about the time I decide they have gotten out and are really missing they come walking out from their little hide away with that "oh, were you looking for me" look.
Beautiful kitty!! Great photos!
He wasn't going back in was he?
We are really 'dog' people, so when Sanchez came here he had us all going crazy, especially our dog! Here's another shot of him - I was frantically searching for him and he was curled up in the bushes enjoying a snooze!
No, Jean, he actually just stood in the doorway watching me go crazy looking for him. We have a rather large deck and I thought maybe he was under there and I was on my hands and knees with a flashlight and calling his name and all the time he was just there watching ... and probably laughing!
Cats spend most of their nonsleeping time getting us to do ridiculous things and then laughing at us. There is a saying that dogs have masters and cats have slaves, and part of a slave's job is to amuse the four legged owners.
Loved the picture of Sanchez peeking out from the door!

How lucky that you had your camera with you in your search! That's a beautiful capture. My Cindy was strictly an indoor cat so her hiding places were any closet that was briefly opened. Sometimes hours passed before we found her, at which point she would slowly stretch and saunter out. Very rarely did we see her dart into a closet, Maybe she was trained as a Navy Seal? Your drawing is exquisite.
Thank you, Richard. Sanchez had been a house cat, too. When my son moved back in we didn't even realize that he would quickly learn to use the dog's door and escape. He drove the dog crazy, too. My son also had another cat, Chico, but he would stay under the bed all the time and only prowl around at 2 in the morning ... he and the dog didn't get along at all!
Wonderful photos, and beautiful drawing.
