Do any of you own or have knowledge of the Bower VT6000 Duoflex 2-in-1 Professional Tripod & Monopod. I am looking for a descent tripod that converts to a monopod for a Nikon D7100 with 18-140mm lens. My budget is under $100 and this one is on sale for $80.

Many will tell you to get this tripod or that tripod.

The most important thing is that the tripod and ball head, can support 1 1/2 to 2 times the total weight of your camera and largest lens.

My camera and lens is only 2.5 lbs. At some point I might get a 3.5 lbs. 70-200mm f/2.8 so I would need a tripod that can handle 8-9 lbs. What I don't know is the capacity of this tripod/monopod.

I don't like the fact that nowhere, on any site, can you see what the load capacity of it is...$100 won't buy you much of a decent tripod though...

I just opened a support ticket and asked for the weight rating.

Be sure your tripod/monopod supports your camera well enough to ensure it won't cost you in the long run to replace gear. Scrimping on a tripod is not a good idea.

Good morning. If you have a real camera store around you go there and pick they brain. Most have some awesome folks to help you. You don't have to buy from them if their price is higher. But the store I go to will match the price if they are close.:)

I saw that. Went to the local store so see it in person but they don't have them in stock. I actually have a Vintage P & B, Ponder & Best, Professional Camera Tripod, Model 1107 from the 1960 that is solid as a rock and was wondering if I could just put a nice ball head on it.

Wow, I guess inshould have said a budget ball head instead of really nice. I will really only use it for night sky and family portrait situations a few times a year. Maybe on a monopod during my son's football season if I want some under the lights shots. What is a descent $100 head for that.
