Detached Retina Symptoms --- There are 3 main symptoms but any one of them can mean you need to see an eye doctor immediately to save your sight.
1. New "floaters" in your eye.
2. A flashing light in your eye.
3. Loss of peripheral vision, either inter or outer.
I had all 3 in two days and knew I had to see an eye doctor quick. I saw him at 11 am on a Friday and he had me with a retina specialist by 11:15. They scheduled me for emergency surgery that afternoon. The doc said that if I had waited till Monday I would have been blind. The doc believes my sight will be about as good as before. It may be 6 weeks before we know what my vision will be. It heals very slowly.
This can happen to anyone so know the symptoms.
Good luck on your recovery Jerry.

No except I am 80 years old and older sometimes is the cause. You can have it if you have been hit or from the jolt of a shotgun, but I was not hit or had shot any gun. No one in my family has ever had it.
