Hello all. I'm 67 years old and started shooting in 2009 with a Nikon D40. I now shoot with a D7100 and am working on a photo book that I can dedicate to 3 friends lost in Vietnam.
A Heron shot at Fairhope Pier on a very overcast day, which I feel worked out quite well...

good for you......great picture. i am 63, and have been playing w/ cameras off and on for seveal yrs. i bought my first; a minolta in japan, when i was in the U S N. during viet nam. came home on leave, & my brother stood up in the canoe we were in, and, well, i owned an expensive paper weight for several yrs. i owned a used minolta for a time after that, then i bought an olympus e520, sold it; i now own a d 5200. have less than 200 shutter releases on it. it's a great camera for me. have fun w/ your camera and good luck w/ your book. this is the place for great advice.
Welcome to the Hog, G. It is never too late to start and you are using a great camera. Really like your heron. ;)

Great shot of a heron! It looks like he is getting ready to run the 100 yard dash. Good luck to you.
