Any opinions on a comparison between the Nissin 866II and the Yuonguo EX600? Is there any reason to go for the additional cost?

I have a Nissan flash and love it. Easy to use and very versatile. I use it with remote flashes. Nissan flashes are well built and dependable.

I am specifically looking for ease of use and any problems with these 2 models at the top end.

Depending on the camera that you are using, the Yongnuo 560EX (which was previously known as the EX600) is a slave only flash. If you are using a Canon, I do suggest to add the additional 30.00 and purchase the YN568 EX II. These flash can be used as a master flash and work wonderfully. They are comparable to the Canon 580 EX II flashes. I personally own 4 of them and love the way they work. If you team it up with the YN622C (remote), you can also change the settings via the camera menu without having to touch the flash. I know that during the holidays, I spent $370 and got 2 flashes and 3 YN622C units. Now, I can set my flashes inside of soft boxes on one of the remote units and put the 3rd remote unit on the camera. With this setup, I can change all of the settings of each flash as if the flash was sitting in the hotshoe of the camera.

I have used the flash that you are looking into and if you don't mind it being a slave only flash you are going to enjoy it. Still do get the YN622C (canon) or the YN622N (Nikon) remote units so you can control it as if it was on your hotshoe.
