OK.. I am not a great worrier about Global warming.... BUT I asked this question on a different forum discussing the Global warming...... and this article only reinforces my QUESTION....

"" The average global temperature has risen about 1.4 degrees F (0.8 C) since 1880, ""

This has taken 133 years......... other than it is HIGHER, how can this be called Global Warming and how can it have any effect on our World....

Most of the warming has taken place since the 1970s. The 1880s are when meteorologists first were able to take measurements with modern instruments.
As far as adaptation and vulnerability the IPCC put the following out in 2007.

Overall warming of the planet and what will be land based adaptation is not the only consequence to increased CO2 release into the atmosphere. The oceans are acidifying...in our lifetimes.

How about the fact that at one time there were daisy like flowers and green grass in the arctic circle? The world is always warming or cooling. I don't deny that it is warming, but really? How did we cause global warming before humans were ever on the planet.

As an aside.... NASA is in Florida. I bet they would change their tune if they were based in Indiana this year. Brrrrrr.

As an adjunct instructor of writing at a small mid-west University, I asked my freshman writing class to research Global Warming and write a paper in support of it. I then asked the same students to research and write a paper refuting Global Warming claims. At the end of the semester I asked the students to write a paper on Global Warming based on what they learned in their research and their personal beliefs. 75% of the class believed in Global Warming and provided proofs and evidence to support their claim. That assignment developed research skills and enhanced the students ability to comprehend and analyze research data. Writing skills improved immeasurably.

I sense if they were based in Indiana, NASA would feel more compelled to change their address than their tune, bykser...:)

Here is their explanation of the relevance of current climate change and global warming. It is not too difficult to get one's brain around. I believe it even accounts for your arctic daisies and green grass (not to be mistaken for what otherwise is known as tundra I assume):

Did the other 25% present their findings in all capital letters?
