US Olympian faces age discrimination

Isn't there somewhere in our "pledge of allegiance" a phrase about "with liberty and justice for all"?
But, it's really is a meaningless concept if our businesses continue to practice age and sex discrimination (or any other form as well!).

maybe it's because she's not that good anymore... she came in 10th!

Something doesn't sound right. Our Olympic team travels to the Olympics courtesy of the USOC and they're equipment is top-notch. This is one story that def. needs to be Snoped.

I would say she is very good. Sure she came in 10th, but how many 'boarders were there. And ALL of them younger than she. And all those other competitors came in behind her. Coming in 10th to me, means she is good enough to compete, no matter what her age.

That's not the point! What aspect of age/sex discrimination do you not understand?

maybe good enough to compete... but maybe not good enough to get a free ride with endorsements... endorsements are based on marketability, not skill level.

No age discrimination here... try to sell anything with Justin Bieber's name on it in 5 years.

You still don't get it. The reason for the rejection was AGE, Dah!!

I'm still not buyin' the story. Every community in this country who has an Olympian has rallied behind them. If she needed money for anything, they would have come up with it.

by your reasoning, any veteran cut from any team is discriminated against because of age.

She had a lot of sponsors (Monster Energy, Scott USA, Breckenridge Resort, US Freeskiing, Buff, Jiberish, and Discrete) ... they dropped her because she stopped being profitable to them.

Any time she gets air time she's profitable to them.
