I am in the process of thinking of purchasing a new Canon T5I camera. What kind of lens are compatible with the camera?

Any Canon EF or EFS lenses, as well as comparable aftermarkets.

I bought one a month ago....because it uses my existing Canon lens, Also bought a Sigma 18-250mm to reduce # of lens needed when I travel....great camera, by the way....

Any lens from Canon with an EF or EF-S in its name. Tamron, Sigma, and others make lenses with EF and EF-S compatible mounts.

Best lens recommendation from someone whose been shooting with Canons for more than 30 years: the Canon 18-200mm IS lens. It's a great walking around lens, and gives you a very wide range from Wide Angle to Standard Zoom.

how does the 18-200 compare to the 18-135 STM? is it quiet when focusing when shooting video. any comparisons of those to the sigma 18-250 and tamron 18-270?
