Since we have had extremely frigid weather, ( below 0*F. with windchills down to 40 below 0), my bird population has exploded here in Southwestern Pennsylvania, I even been visited by E. Towhee and Am. Tree Sparrow which is unusual. We have also had 7 inches of snow in one evening.
In Pittsburgh, on the Allegheny River, there are hundreds of Gulls, some from as far away as the Arctic.
Could this possibly be a Thayers Gull from Arctic? :?:
Thanks for looking and the comment A.J. Given the quality of the shot you posted I am not positive, but from Stokes and a quick online search I would guess that it is a first searson Iceland gull. They have relatively short beaks that are mostly black and a creamy buff colored during the first winter. Here is one link.
