We were returning to the ship after spending the day touring. A nice shot of both ships presented itself in the afternoon sun.
Interesting shot. It seems incongruous that such a huge ship can get so close to shore.
It's ok, EB. The people are taller than they look.

My thoughts exactly, how is that possible??? Actually know where that is approx. , don't think many NZers would. Looks idyllic.

Just how top-heavy ARE those ships? Makes you wonder why they don't just roll right over, eh?
coral reefs and bottom of see blown up to make room for them
I believe I took this on the island of Grand Turk in the Caribbean . We were traveling on the Ruby Princess, one of the ships pictured.
Wow docking so close to shore. Must be quite a drop off.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! There must be a real big drop-off out there. Remember when ships looked like ocean liners?

Stabilizers do an amazing job of keeping the level.
The walk out to the ship is at least 1/4 mile !!!!
I think the long telephoto is misleading to the eye. It pretty far away.

The water colors are a giveaway as to depth. You can see that it has gotten very dark meaning its deep.
Or if your a sailor and you come to one Dark round spot in a light sea, thats a coral head.
