Looking for some feedback
I'm new to this forum. Attached is a sampling of pictures I've done recently. I'd like see the opinion's of those outside my circle so I can improve my photography. Thank you.
you have good eye for composition and lighting. you did a really nice job shooting directly into the sun, I can see a lot of detail on your subject.
one question, while you were there with this wonderful lighting condition did you also capture one of her with a flash in that background?
Thank you. No, I don't own a flash (other than the one on the camera) yet. It is on the wish list though and looks like it's next to be added to my bag of tricks.
It would be a nice investment for you and you won't regret it!! One step at a time getting your accessories!! I know I am still adding to my wish list, LOL
I know this sounds unreal but, for a temp fix until you get a flash, you could use a thin piece of paper over you camera flash to help with some of the camera flash for a softer light to help light up your subjuct. Or Aluminun foil in front of your flash and a bigger piece behind you flash on card board so you can bend it a little to through out a soft light than the flash it self. So the flash on your camera flash will hit the foil in front and bounce back at the bigger pierce and it will put a softer, that will help light your subject a little more. I hope this can helps some.

That is what I used to make my subjects face look like this with the bright sun behind her.
Thanks! That's a good tip. I hadn't thought about doing that. Makes sense though.
Your welcome, I hopes it help until you get a flash. I liked your pictures just the way they are. My opion of your pictures, They are really good I like the way the light is on all of them. I jus thought you may want a way to lighten up some too.
Thank you, I like you suggestion. I am always looking for new ways to do things. I will try your suggestion and see what I come up with. We'll see how I do. :D
Actually they are an interesting set of photos showing a lot of potential. The second shot baffles me for a subject. There's an interesting photo there involving the seated person. I like the shadows in their vicinity. If the resolution was large enough you could enlarge the photo, crop the person area and work on a composition there. Overall nice shots.
Baffles you in a good, thought provoking way or in a "delete it" way? The seated person is actually a homeless woman. Can you elaborate on how you would re-compose the shot? I am always interested in other perspectives.

Give me a few minutes to try. Understand I'm starting with an 800x600 resolution so it will be a challenge. As suspected I enlarge it 400% but lost a lot of definition. I think you get the idea of what I was trying to say however.
Interesting Part of The Frame IMHO
That's an interesting perspective. When I was taking the picture I wanted it to have a sort of urban feel to it. I liked having the homeless woman in the picture, but didn't want to make her the focus of the scene. I see what you were talking about though.
While on vacation I recently spent two days in San Francisco. During a walk near the ferry boat docks I was truck by this sad sight, a homeless man picking his bench for the night.
