Aston Martin Recall

Imagine this - you spend almost $300,000 on a nice car, an Aston Martin, to present to your daughter as a high graduation gift. Then you learn that it's being recalled. It turns out a Chinese company was using "counterfeit plastic material" in part of the gas pedal. Counterfeit plastic?! They couldn't use real plastic? This sound like Saturday Night Live sketch.

Was Aston Martin trying to keep the price of these cars down so they could give their customers a break? Can't anyone in England produce a small plastic part? Apparently they can, because A-M is now having this part made in the UK. Hopefully, they'll be using genuine plastic.

Right, but you might have noticed that most of their cars now cost over $275,000. That's different!

If only plastic were the least harmful additive.

Potato Patato. Still a recipe for disaster. And we are teaching the Chinese rocket and aerospace technologies. How smart are we?

Teaching? More like providing a means to steal our "secrets." The Chinese and Russians have a long history of copying our designs. See the Russian space shuttle below.

I remember when things used to labeled "Made in USA." Now it might say "Assembled in USA with Parts Made in China."
