Double tracks? Never have seen it before. One set seems to be rusty. I sense that there is a story here.

the are rusty because they don't run in the winter. It's only double tracks on the bridge, don't know reason

The inner rails are used on bridges, trestles, etc., as an additional protection against derailment at critical locations.

Thanx, the low bridge was wiped out by hurricane Floyd a few years ago.

both bridges exist now, the second bridge was destroyed by hurricane floyd flooding and rebuilt a year later.
