Yes, definitely orchids. Growing up in Hawaii, they were all around my dad's yard. And growing off the plumeria trees.

Phalaenopsis orchids to be exact. There around 30,000 different species of orchid's (varieties growing in the wild). The one's in your photo's are hybrids, of which there are hundred's of thousands... I have over 500 in my small greenhouse.

I added another Orchid photo that I took during the same period (2012)... the backgrounds in most of my Orchid photos were painted out...
