That's a lovely clear, crisp shot. I have anSX50 now so I will have to try it out. May I ask , did you use a tripod?

I'm guessing that shot was taken with a tripod. If you did that handheld, you must be made out of granite. Nice sharp image. Well done.

That is another amazing shot of the moon, I've never seen better. I want to try something like that myself with my Nikon P510 which has a 42x zoom. I am sure you used a tripod, but was wondering what camera settings you used. Also, I am so impressed with your camera I may just have to order one. Maybe sometime you could post some other photos taken with this camera of other things, like landscape, birds, etc. Thanks for this post. It was great.

Sweet! I'm impressed with how good Canon's SXs do on these moon shots. I have a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS that also takes nice moon pics (not quite this close, though).

Thank you infocus, and yes i did use a tripod and cable release, i have too now as i am 75years old.

Hi waltchilds, here are three photos taken with the SX-50, the two of the birds were taken through my double glazed kitchen window.
