Thanks for looking 'jamatt'. There is a open season all year on coyotes, you just need a small game license. No firing of guns in my neighborhood. There is a state wildlife area within about 200 Yards, shotguns only. There are many other predator's looking for a meal, bobcat's, mountain lion, golden eagles, hawks, owl's.
People do have outside dogs that have totally enclosed kennels, only way to keep them safe. Coyotes are mostly night hunters.
I hear them almost every night.
We are overrun by the critters here in central Indiana. They run in packs and kill dogs, cats, small livestock, etc. on a daily basis. I have lived here all my life and never saw a coyote until the early 80's. We all wish they'd go back to wherever they came from.
