Just another inconvenient right we really don't need anymore now that the government is there to take care of us....
This apparently took place some time ago, but I just saw it for the first time. Welcome George Orwell, to the 21st century- you were only 30 years off - but oh so astute. Note the driver, at a DUI checkpoint, was never once asked or tested for drinking.
DUI checkpoint video goes viralhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRjmvgZX9ak
I'd imagine that the ACLU would find this of interest. It is part and parcel of the police mentality which arrests a woman filming,FROM HER OWN FRONT YARD, a police "interview" with a stopped motorist. The longer we citizens put up with this crap, the more it will continue and/or escalate.
I checked the Constitution. I didn't find the Freedom to be an A-Hole in it, but I could be wrong.

Wow! I'm with Frank on this one. With all the danger police have to face never knowing what they are about to encounter they surely must be cautious. This kid was being a prick from the very onset and had he simply complied with the officers request I doubt there would have been any incident. This kid had his camera rolling and I think he was out to create an incident, what an ass.

You are correct- the cop was an A-hole-
Once again it was DUI stop- yet the kid was never, ever, not once, questioned about drinking... which is the entire reason for the checkpoint to be approved and operated. And yet, all you care about is that the cop treated him poorly, that the cop clearly stated with annouance that the "kid knew his RIGHTS" . The the other cop A-hole circumvented the rights of search and seizure by manipulating the dog inot a false positive response- ( which is proven false by no illegal substance being found)
You can't be upset that the kid was respectful in every answer and simply operated within his constitutional rights... right?

I am of mixed feelings on this. The folks in many of these videos are being a-holes to the cops who would have simply let them be on their way after looking at their license, registration, and insurance info. I am perfectly happy getting drunk idiots off the roads. On the other hand, cops are often uneducated, poorly-trained egotistical asses who love pushing people around - just watch an episode of "Cops" - some poor schmoe is riding his bicycle along and one cop says "I know this guy" and they pull him over and search his bag and find some crack and off he goes to jail. They had no probably cause, the guy wasn't hurting anyone, and his rights were totally violated. I live in a small town. Our local cops get paid minimum wage. I guess we can't expect much for that.

How about the fourth amendment? Did you see and read that while you were checking for assholes?

Been here before, same video. An asshole (Driver) vs. an overzealous Cop. What's new?
