Refilled my bird feeders on Saturday and then sat back to watch what happened. Within a few minutes I had a variety of birds there ... especially the Blue Jays - 7 or 8 of them each decided he was in charge of both feeders. Lot of fun to watch.
This afternoon I stopped by a local 'lagoon' (drainage pond) to take pictures of the reeds and reflections but the water wasn't smooth enough. Reason was quickly apparent ... 7 or 8 Mallard males and a dozen hens were calmly paddling around, stopping for a quick 'float through' snack and then continuing their journey.
Not entirely happy with the quality of these shots - first two were shot through a clean sliding glass door, the Mallard was moving constantly - but thought them worth sharing.
C&C welcome.
