I'm always looking up birds on http://www.allaboutbirds.org to increase my knowledge base. It seems all the colorful birds don't know where Washington state is. At least I haven't seen many. Anyway, the bird I asked about is indeed a European Starling, but is an adult non-breeding one. In winter the adults are covered with white spots, while the juveniles are a dull grayish brown overall. Thanks so much for the ID.

Very nice Joe. I love the Cardinal although your Starling is one of the best of that species I have seen.
