I go to this place on cloudy days to avoid white-out. The Falls change almost daily as the cold sculpts the icy trickles. I am not satisfied with these results but look forward to returning to try and try again.

Maybe it's just me, but as you inquired, perhaps you might open up the lens a bit more. You could whiten the ice up a lot more that way. Of course it can always be done thru pp work, but why not in-camera.
