Folks, my bird feeder has been taken over by a couple Mockingbirds. Lately I've been practicing bird photography, but these two run off anything that gets near it. So....I'll practice on them for now. At least I got the bird I.D. right on this one (I think) :-D

I'm watching for anything that moves...bugs included!

Yes, you did. Nice shot. Love hearing them sing at night in the summer.

Yea I do too...for awhile anyway. Some of them can get relentless though. Then you feel like throwing a brick at them just for a moment of peace.

They can be very territorial.

Thank you Kindly Earl...sure wish those Mockingbirds would leave the others alone. I've chased them off I don't know how many times...they just come back. A couple little chickadees and Titmouses got brave and did a quick stop and go at the feeder. But I can't shoot them when they do that.

Yea, I think these two were hatched here. We had 3 babies last Spring in the nearby bushes. I felt sorry for one that fell out of the nest...put him back it. Guess he forgot.

You nailed that one, James!!! A stunning shot, just as crisp as can be. That's great work!

I think I'm making small improvements Randy...one step at a time (as they say). But overall, not bad for a rookie.

Great shots! Certainly one of the most territorial of birds. They often spend hours during the breeding season attacking the outside rear view mirror of any car left in the driveway in their "zone".
