Thanks Jean! They can really stuff it full of seeds; I wonder if they actually eat all they gather, or just hoard it.

They are very cute, but a problem when they get out of hand! Squirrels are more of a problem around here though, they love to bury seed in our flower pots and beds.

I've had squirrels and chipmunks eat flower bulbs, I've seen them jump into a flower pot while we are on the deck, burrow down, across and out,

The worse thing they do for me is plant hickory tree nuts in the pots. By the time I notice leafs, the long tap root is coming out the bottom of the pot, requiring disturbing the entire planting to get the growing tree out.

Jimande you have a very good shot of a golden ground squrrel Chipmonks are about half as big and their noses come to a point.
