We went to Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert, Az. for the second time yesterday and I was able to get some photos of an Egret fishing. He would fly from one side of the pond to the other and dip for fish as he was flying over the water. I used my Canon 6D with my Sigma 120-300 F2.8 Sport Lens with the Sigma 2X extender on a tripod with a Gimbal head.

Thank you, I have never seen it before either, he had a pattern he followed and kept coming up with minnows to eat.

I love these shots; they're sharp and well composed to show great reflections. Nice job!

Thank you, my converter is tight and for a 2x I am impressed with the photo quality and the speed of focus. Do you have the adapter for adjusting the focus on this lens? I set up a focus triangle and set the lens for front and back focussing.

thanks mate , yes i have , the 1x4 good and love the 120-300 f2.8 , but my sigma 2x does not fit well to the body , i have been thinking that this is what may be the problem as its been that way since new ,might take it back to the camera store or buy the canon 2x , if i run the 2x on foCal it cames up lens failed to focus 4 or 5 times per test so i think its not conecting with the body properley , but if any one has any surgestions glad to try them lol , thanks again Ramled

I also use this lens with my 7D and I have tried the Canon extender but with this lens I am much happier with the results of the Sigma extender(in my opinion it has sharper focus and better image quality).

Isn't that a wonderful place to go? The only problem is that it's quite busy some days! It's a wonderful walk-around and there are always interesting birds to shoot. Try going really early in the AM or really late in the PM
