Folks, I've been playing around with bird photography a little bit here lately. I kind of gave up, but thanks to Regis (who does spectacular bird photography)...I've been inspired to try again. I'm no expert on species, but I think this is a finch of some sort. There is no cropping on this shot...I was zoomed in tight on this little bugger. Hopefully in the next few days, I'll work on some more attempts, see how it goes. I took Joe F.N.'s advice and put some small limbs on my feeder. I'll see how that works out too...

Great pic., James56,
This is a House Sparrow; it's not a native bird but an old world Weaver finch. :-D
Thank you kindly A.J and avidavian for the I.D...

Great shot James.
Thanks Jim...maybe some day I can make a collage like yours too. I just need 75-100 more shots!
Thanks to your fabulous shot, James, you've made that little bugger into a great BIG bugger! Love it!
Nice work!

Very nice James! What were you shooting with?

Nice & sharp, James. Good colors, too. The sparrows around here are very drab compared to this one. :-)
If this is a 'practice' shot, what do you call a serious shot? This is a spectacular, wonderful shot!
Thanks Folks...a bit of an update. A couple Mockingbirds have taken over my feeder area. All day they've chased off anything that tries to get near. And now its beginning to rain...so I'll have to hold off for awhile on getting anymore practice in.
