How many use RAW over JPEG
Hard to answer I use both, generally the jpeg is good to browse with if it needs tweaking then i work with raw. If the photo is bad I delete both.
with the cost of sd cards being so low you can store many hours worth of photography on the camera, pick the shots worth keeping and store those then empty the card and reuse.
There is no good reason to not use both, think of it as insurance.

I normally have the camera set to shoot both. RAW for heavy editing and JPEG to load into the iPad if so desired.
I usually use RAW only, most of the time, sometimes I use RAW+Jpeg, it really just depends on what you are taking shots of.

Always RAW. I tried RAW + JPG for a short time, but I never used the JPG so I went back to RAW only. If I want a JPG for an iPad or other device, I need to reduce the resolution anyway, so I see no point in having the JPG.
When I want to use my greater editing experience to redo my older pictures, I get frustrated as they are all JPG and I cannot get the quality I would like. I re-edit them in PSE using 'Open As Camera RAW' which gives me the best of a bad job.
If, as a beginner, you are scared of RAW, then save in both by all means but keep the RAW files for any worthwhile shots that you might want to re-edit for when you are more experienced.
