When my GF opens PSE 9 on her Windows computer to edit photos, her workspace (the whole PSE window) is much smaller than when I open mine. I need to fix it for her.........

Is there a fix for this within PSE ?? I cannot find it in either of the two books I have. I thought maybe under preference - but NO.

Do I need to adjust/move up her display settings on her computer screen ?? (R click on
Desktop>Properties>Settings>screen resolution)

If in the top right hand side, the icon for size looks like a single square, click that and the window will go full screen.
If you don't want to go full-screen, you could grab one of the corners and drag it out diagonally.

If the screen resolution in her settings in the above path are higher numbers than yours.... ie yours 12xx X 768 and hers are more like 1600x900, all her apps, text and windows on her screen will be smaller than yours.

That's the way resolution works...Higher numbers aspect wise equal smaller display of the apps on the screen.

If the computers are very far apart in years there may be some restrictions on how high either of you can set your resolution.....

But the fact still remains that reducing her resolution numbers will make her apps look bigger.

However, making them stay where you want them can be an issue because the designers and configuration people often make the default resolution go to the default based on the maximum resolution differences between screen capabilities.

For instance, I like my icons and apps larger displayed by setting the screen resolution for 1248X768. However the computer always nags me that the optimal resolution is 1600X900 and makes me OK the one I want to use.

If I follow the suggestion on the "nag", my apps and text on the apps will be small enough to be uncomfortable me to read and use.

Good luck.
