To me, these are the most extraordinary members of the diving duck family. Their chicks must test their mettle in a spine-tingling, "hair-raising" rite of passage just one day after hatching. Read about their unusual antics here:

Hoodies are a favorite of mine! You've done a good job here. Their cavity nesting is similar to several other ducks including Wood Ducks and Common Mergansers.
