Canon Production

I have been looking for a Canon 60D. Everywhere i have looked says the camera is out of stock. Talked to a guy at Wolfe Camera and he told me that where the cameras were made was recently flooded. Does anyone have any additional info or have any idea when production may resume? Also.....where can I find the camera?

According to http://www.canonrumors.com the production and shipping of all Canon products has suffered because of the flooding and tsunami damage in Japan...ever to the point where Canon is considering moving their factories out of Japan entirely. On the website toggle down to the 60D on the home page ..click and it will tell You all about the shortages.

The Wolf camera shops in my area don't even carry Canon at all, not because of the flooding and tsunami damage in Japan, they just don't carry the Canon line.
I can order it from their website, but I figure if they don't carry it instore then what is the point. I shop either at B&H or the local family owned camera shop that they are happy to answer all my questions.

I checked Amazon, B&H, Adorama, and Best Buy yesterday (because a friend of mine is looking for one) and all were OOS on the 60D body alone. Some had kit deals available.
A reputable ebay retailer had 7D bodies yesterday for $1,100 but you had to be quick they went fast.

I will check B & H again. When I was looking day before yesterday, on all the 60D's, it said out of stock. I will look again. found the body for $899.00 at B& H last time I looked. I am at work right now, and will have to wait until I get home! Can't shop on-line form here!

When Wolf filed bankruptcy certain brands (Canon & Fuji that I know of) went to a cash only inventory with Wolf so Wolf doesn't carry their product on the shelf.

There are a number of photo shops in New York that start with the street name: i.e. 47 St Photo. Check them out. Also check out Adorama.

Nikon has a many of their products made in Thailand, and the flooding shut them down for quite a while. I have no idea where Canon products are made.
