Nice! That is what I like about this type of tree. So much detail in the bark. Also it is a good tree that can save your life.:) Take a small piece of the bark off that is peeling and light it. It will burn even if it is wet. Just don't pull it so it takes the main bark off. Something I learned in special forces a long time ago.:):)

yes I remember as a kid camping we used white birch to start our campfire's
