I see a reflection of an Ice Cream container-shaped softbox:

#1 is so sharp, it looks like a lens, not a drop of dew.
Are those white patches your lighting?
And, I'm kind of new at this so that's why I'm asking but do you have some crap on your sensor upper left? It shows most in #3.

Never gonna happen on a convex reflective surface. Unless you clone-out the reflection in PP.

Here are photos of Tom's (tinusbum) macro set-up, including illumination: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-131567-1.html
Notice that the reflections match the shape of his DIY diffuser.

So you have one light? Reflected from both the outside and the far inside... cool.

Nice Tom, both refractions came out well.

Funny you should post these photos. I have been working on diffuser sleeves for my twin flash. To test effectiveness, I have been shooting a filament inside a clear light bulb.

When I shoot with the flashes directly mounted on attachment ring, close to the lens barrel, I see the double reflections off the surface of the bulb and on the interior of the bulb on the opposite side, much like your dew droplets. I put the flashes on mini ball mounts to lift them above the ring ~1.5" and cock the flash head at a 60-to-75 degree angle. End result moves the reflections out of the frame. This comes at a cost, reduced illumination, but increasing ISO compensates enough that exposure is acceptable.

Your dew drops are much smaller, so I don't think you will be able to eliminate the reflection. However, raising the flash and angling outward may help reduce the glare and/or push it to the edge where it would be less distracting.

If memory serves me, (less and less lately). you add a bit of glycerin to water to make the drop cling and hold shape. Is that correct? Very nice images, excellent work. I especially like the one with the perfect sphere of water on the leaf and on magnification the one strand of silk falling beneath. JB
