The View...........

I was privileged to be able to ride the USS Nimitz CVN 68 with my son a few weeks ago. I took a late evening tour that included the bridge. After climbing twelve flights of stairs I was treated to this view. God is Good.

That verse is well-suited to that photo. My son was on the Carl Vinson CVN 70.

Thank you photophile. I think the Vinson was in San Diego when we left.

Thanks for the memory Jim, I took that tour with my son on the Nimitz over 20 years ago. I have a certificate, signed by the helmsman, on the wall stating that I steered that great ship for 13 minutes. What an experience. Are they still allowing the dads to do that? We went from Pearl to San Diego. That was 8 days that still seems like a dream.
Again, thanks and God bless, you just made my afternoon!

Thanks for looking Phil. It was quite an experience, I rode from San Diego to Everett. I did not get a certificate, but I did get to steer the ship.

I was hoping that you did, the wake looked like a snake when I was done, but I gave it my best  I would have loved to have had a modern DSLR on that cruise. Sometimes God just blesses our socks off!
