Really great shot Bob, nice and sharp...wonderful capture. It amazes me how creatures survive such cold temps without jackets. Sounds like we're in for even colder weather ahead.

Good shot Bob. You should see the birds in Manitoba Canada where the temp is -39, WC is -48.....well it least you don't need a fast shutter speed as they don't move much. I do some shots from inside too as my gear just doesn't like this darn cold winter weather.

Wonderful shot. I get cold just looking at the poor bird.

The light and clarity are super. Quite an amazing shot!

Interesting point Old Gray Beard brought up about bird's breath. No doubt Google has an answer somewhere :)

Hi Bob
We are at -11F at the moment and our guys are flying around like crazy. It's interesting how they change from day to day. Two days ago, in bright sun at about the same temp, there were almost none.

Thanks for your kind remarks, James!

I have a small heated birdbath on the deck and these same doves jump down into it in this weather!

Thanks for the comments!

I think they hold their breath until it's warmer!
