Inquiring minds want to know...

Did you get any new photography items for Christmas?
Gift cards that are "marked" photo supplies?

I got a Nikon Speedlight SB-700 strobe for my D300, thanks to my lovely wife. I like it, it's a really nice strobe and does a great job! Just couldn't see spending $550.00 for the SD-910. Now if I just had two more SB-700's I could do some really great lighting. ;)

I was blessed. My adorable wife got me the Sony A77 with the 18-50mm f/2.8, Sigma 70-200, top of the line Flash, Carbon Fiber Ball Head tripod, Sony LCD Monitor, and numerous other accessories.

She, in return, got my A55 to replace her HX100.

Three hours after opening my gifts, we went on a Christmas photo shoot. The A77 was fantastic!!! I was most impressed at the indoor candid shots.

I've been having problems with my older D300 so my son suprised me with a new D7000. I'm finding it has more bells and whistles than the D300 and an old dog has to learn some new tricks.

Santa was good to me too! I got a Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 lens for my T3i, AND the Speedlite 430EX ii. I can't wait to get out there and try them out. These are the times I wish I didn't have to work and wait for weekends to get out there and shoot - would love to be able to do it every day. Hopefully I will win the lottery soon. :)

I got a couple of backup batteries, an external charger, and an lcd screen protector for my P500. (They are the grey markey China type batteries and charger, but they seem to work just fine so far.)

Nice! I would love it if you posted to say how that goes; I hear through the grapevine that the Eye-FI cards are slow, so I have hesitated to spend the money to try it. But the concept is outstanding and I would really like to hear how it works for you. Thanks, good luck and enjoy!

My wife bought me two pounds of bird seeds so I can photograph at home. It won't help until mid spring, though; it's too cold to sow them now. 8-)
