Because I liked colo43's frames on her photos that she posts here I recently purchased some frame actions from Shutterfreak.. So I tried one of them on this photograph. I took this one back in 2006 with a Canon 10D, probably in Program mode (f 6.7 1/250 ISO 100) . I did minimum basic editing in Photoshop cs6. Now the challenge is....does anyone have any idea how I might have gotten this tattered-look? I was thinking I had used one of Graphic Authority's effects but I just do not remember and I can't seem to duplicate it.

This photograph has been hanging in my living room (framed in much the same way as I made this one look using Shutterfreak) since 2006. I had never sold any of my photographs before... but I did sell one of these!

Looks like it may have been created with a program like "Photographic Edges" from Auto FX Software..
I've been using it when I think it will "add" to an image.. The somewhat "painted-on" seems to work with your image..

Very nice what you have done from the original, a somewhat high-key look. A lot to do with the framing I think. Which one did you sell, the original or the new look? Thanks for giving us all a chance to look! I do like both images as they are different.

Thank you for your quick response and your idea but I know I didn't do it with Auto FX software because I have never owned that software. I edited this photo back in 2006 right after I took it so I know I could have only created the effect somehow in Photoshop or perhaps with Graphic Authority. I will keep trying to figure it out.

Thank you very much RRS. I sold the one just like the framed one (with the tattered-look). The lady saw my print when I had it framed and asked if she could buy a print. She later told me that she hung it in her office.

Thank you Marilyn. I think black framing must be more me as I tend to have most my photographs framed in black. I think I am going to like the frame actions as they will probably be a little quicker than making them in Photoshop. I did not use a matte with the frame because I had already made a matted look on this photo.
