Does anyone know if the diffraction limit on a lens is influenced by the sensor size?

In theory yes, in practice no.

Caveat, it is not about the sensor array size but the sensor size itself. It would have to be a few thousand size smaller in order to detect the lens imperfections.

Err, not quite, I was more thinking is terms of physical limitations/imperfections not of the light dispersion (even if the two are related).

That's a pretty definitive explanation with a couple of decent calculators.

The first calculator needs to be updated to cover the D600/D610 sensor and probably others. The second one is better, especially if you click on show advanced.
