I once about a year ago, saw a good price for Canon speedlight...Wow Canon at a cheap price...on a website that sold brand name cameras, well I bought the speedlight, but not the camera that was a package deal...since I didn't buy the package I got an aftermarket not a Canon, and couldn't return this since it was on sale and a package deal...I don't shop low budget camera stores online and stay only with top name dealers like B&H whom I have never gone wrong with them. Oh I was needing, and paid the price, for a Canon speedlight 430EX...I'm happy and that junk light I bought is in a junk box where it belongs, for it never took a decent shot even on a test fire. L3

Years ago I purchased a Sigma EF-500 DG Super. Aside from inconsistent results, the battery door broke off. I tend to agree that in this case, buy once cry once

Yeah guys, but, what if you just can't afford one of those babies and you just need something to get by with until you do? I am presently saving for a Canon but until I can afford one, I have this Digital Concepts model 952AF that has been pretty ok.

If you can swing the 430 you will not be disappointed. You might be able to find a used one, check out Craigslist.

I would look at ebay and look for the price of EXII, though don't ignor an EX if the price is better. The EXII has a faster recycle time and as stated by those who know...the flash won't let you down. I recommend ebay and look first at the sellers feedback and go no less than 96.6% even register to ebay to ask questions of the seller. That is my suggestion, and thank you for listening to my suggestions. L3

I will answer questions you may have before making a commitment to such a buy. I own such a flash unit and can answer questions about specifications or capabilities, and if I cannot answer your question I know some have the answers here on this forum. L3

I have a 5DMII camera and cannot answer if the 60D can, but suspect it will syncronize as it does with my camera...Those with 60D and this flash may have that answer. L3

It is compatible with your camera all EF models are compatible with speedlights, and am sure the Rebel is an EF model. L3

Going online the 430EX and EXII are fully compatible with Reble ti cameras with af function. and has auto flash functions for exposure control TTL measured. I found for my flash when I want sync at any camera speed I must set that with the flash menu, and not my camera menu. There is no special menu functions to use with the flash, just hook up, turn on, get the ready light and shoot. L3

If your going to shoot manual flash it doesnt matter what brand you get. if you are wanting to use ETTL then stick with the canon.
